OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Health dated September 8, 1998, pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of

Chapter 13 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1990, the Health Council Act, and Sections 2 and 3 of

Chapter 2 of the Acts of 1998, the Health Council Appointments

(1998) Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint the following persons as members of the Provincial Health Council, each for a term of office of one year commencing September 30, 1998, and ending September 29, 1999: Vivian R. Farrell of Pictou, Pictou County; Leona R. Brown of R.R.#5 Yarmouth, Yarmouth County; Tom Bird of Bridgewater, Lunenburg County; Beverley Ruth Coulson, R.N., M.ScN., of R.R.#2 Musquodoboit Harbour, Halifax Regional Municipality; (

b) appoint the following persons as members of the Provincial Health Council, each for a term of office of two years commencing September 30, 1998, and ending September 29, 2000: Douglas B. Shatford, Q.C., of Amherst, Cumberland County; Joan F. Lay of Halifax, Halifax Regional Municipality; Janet Conners of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; Dr. Mahmood A. Naqvi of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; (

c) appoint the following persons as members of the Provincial Health Council, each for a term of office of three years commencing September 30, 1998, and ending September 29, 2001: Merle MacDonald of R.R.#2 Canning, Kings County; Daurene E. Lewis of Bedford, Halifax Regional Municipality; Sharon Rudderham of Sydney, Cape Breton Regional Municipality; Barbara Hart of Dartmouth, Halifax Regional Municipality; and (

d) appoint Barbara Hart as Chair of the Provincial Health Council for a term commencing September 30, 1998, and ending September 29, 2001.
