Student Loan Act

STUDENTS LOAN GUARANTEE AMENDMENT REGULATION

Filed: February 21, 1996

Made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council (O.C. 80/96) pursuant to

section

11 of the Student Loan Act.

1 The Students Loan Guarantee Regulations (Alta. Reg. 213/70) are amended

by this Regulation.

Section 1 and everything preceding it are repealed and the following is

substituted:

STUDENT LOAN REGULATION

Section 2 is amended

(

a) by renumbering it as

section 2(1);

(

b) by striking out "these Regulations" and substituting "this

Regulation";

(

c) in clause (a.1) by striking out "Students Loan Guarantee Act"

and substituting "Student Loan Act";

(

d) in clause (a.2) by striking out ", 1976";

(

e) by repealing clause (

i) and substituting the following:

(i) "resident in Alberta" means having the status of a

resident within the meaning of the Students Finance Regulation (Alta. Reg.

106/92);

(

f) by adding the following after subsection (1):

(2) The definition of "resident in Alberta" in subsection (1)(

i) also applies for the purposes of

section 2 of the Act.

4 The following is added after

section 2:

Application

2.1 Sections 6, 7, 7.1, 8(b), 8.1, 9, 10(1), (2), (3) and (4), 11,

12 and 13 do not apply with respect to a guaranteed loan that falls within

an agreement entered into under

section 8 of the Act.

Section 14 is amended by adding ", other than an agreement under

section 8 of the Act," after "may enter into an agreement".

Public Sector Pension Plans Act

PUBLIC SECTOR PENSION PLANS (LEGISLATIVE

PROVISIONS) AMENDMENT REGULATION

Filed: February 21, 1996

Made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council (O.C. 82/96) pursuant to

Schedule 4,

section 12 of the Public Sector Pension Plans Act.

1 The Public Sector Pension Plans (Legislative Provisions) Regulation

(Alta. Reg. 365/93) is amended by this Regulation.

Schedule 4 is amended by adding the following after

section 3:

Remuneration

3.1(1) Remuneration is to be paid to or on behalf of all members and

the chair of the Board.

(2) The rates of the remuneration payable are to be the same as

those payable under Part A of

Schedule 1 to the Committee Remuneration

Order (O.C. 769/93).

(3) Unless the Provincial Treasurer otherwise directs the Board in

writing, where remuneration is payable under this

section to or on behalf

of an employee of the Crown, it belongs to the Crown and is to be paid to

the Provincial Treasurer.

Government Organization Act

DESIGNATION AND TRANSFER OF RESPONSIBILITY

AMENDMENT REGULATION

Made by the Lieutenant Governor in Council (O.C. 83/96) pursuant to

section

16 of the Government Organization Act.

1 The Designation and Transfer of Responsibility Regulation (Alta. Reg.

398/94) is amended by this Regulation.

Section 5 is renumbered as

section 5(1) and the following is added

after subsection (1):

(2) The responsibility for the Land Surveyors Act is transferred to

the Minister of Labour.

3 The following is added after

section 9:

10(1) The responsibility for the Family and Community Support

Services Act, except for sections 5 and 6, is transferred to the Minister

of Family and Social Services.

(2) The responsibility for sections 5 and 6 of the Family and

Community Support Services Act is transferred to administration in common

by the Minister of Family and Social Services and the Minister of Municipal

Affairs.

Section 2.1(1)(

c) of the Environmental Protection Administrative

Transfer Order (Alta. Reg. 12/93) is repealed.

(2) The Family and Community Support Services Administrative Transfer

Regulation (Alta. Reg. 108/94) is repealed.

5 Sections 3 and 4(2) come into force on April 1, 1996.

AMENDMENT REGULATION

Made by the Deputy Minister of Energy (M.O. 7/96) pursuant to

section 6 of

the Natural Gas Royalty Regulation, 1994 (Alta. Reg. 351/93).

1 The Prescribed Amounts (Natural Gas Royalty) Regulation (Alta. Reg.

36/95) is amended by this Regulation.

Section 4 is amended by adding the following after subsection (12):

(13 ) The following prices are prescribed for the December, 1995

production month:

1 The Prescribed Amounts (Petroleum Royalty) Regulation (Alta. Reg.

47/93) is amended by this Regulation.

Section 41 is amended by adding the following after clause (d):

(d.1) the new oil par price is $147.00 per cubic metre;

3 The following is added after

section 41:

42 The following are prescribed for the month of April, 1996:

a) the old non-heavy oil par price is $142.90 per

cubic metre;

(

Motor Transport Act

PUBLIC VEHICLE WEIGHT AMENDMENT REGULATION

Filed: February 29, 1996

Made by the Executive Director of Regional Co-ordination and Director of

the Motor Transport Branch of the Department of Transportation and

Utilities pursuant to

section 35 of the Motor Transport Act.

1 The Public Vehicle Weight Regulation (Alta. Reg. 230/88) is amended by

this Regulation.

Section 1 is amended

(

a) by repealing clause (

f) and substituting the following:

(f) "Director" means the Director of Transport

Engineering;

(

b) by repealing clause (

n) and substituting the following:

(n) "primary highway" means a highway that

(

i) is designated as a primary highway, and

(ii) is assigned a number between 1 and 99,

pursuant to the Public Highways Development Act;

(

c) in clause (t)(

i) by striking out "Director" and substituting

"Executive Director of Regional Co-ordination".

Section 1.1 is amended by striking out "Director as defined in this

Regulation" and substituting "Executive Director of Regional

Co-ordination".
