Interpretation Act Public Service Superannuation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Human Rights Act dated December 5, 2011, and pursuant to

Section 26 of

Chapter 214 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Human Rights Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act and

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, is pleased, effective January 10, 2012 to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Karen Fitzner as Acting Director of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission, made by Order in Council 2011-159, dated April 26, 2011; (

b) appoint David Shannon as Director of the Nova Scotia Human Rights Commission for a term of three years; (

c) fix the salary of David Shannon at $116,000 per annum; (

d) determine that David Shannon shall receive such benefits as may be approved from time to time by the Executive Council or Treasury Board; and (

e) designate David Shannon to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
