Order in Council 1485/2025

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Whereas the MPP Pension and Compensation Act, 2025 amended the MPPs Pension Act, 1996 to establish a new pension plan for Members of Provincial Parliament;

And

whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council may, by order, establish a supplemental pension plan for members of the Public Service Pension Plan who are members of the Assembly;

And

whereas the Lieutenant Governor in Council may, by order, specify who the administrator of a supplemental pension plan will be;

Therefore, pursuant to subsection 54(4) of the MPPs Pension Act, 1996 , the Ontario Public Service Pension Board shall be the administrator of the MPP supplemental pension plan.

And pursuant to , subsection 10(1) of the MPP Pension and Compensation Act, 2025 and

section 10 of the Legislation Act, 2006 , this Order is effective as of January 1, 2026.
