An Act to End Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Drilling Loi visant à mettre fin à l’exploration et au forage du pétrole et du gaz naturel His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows: Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement de l’Assemblée législative du Nouveau-Brunswick, édicte : 1 The Oil and Natural Gas Act,

Chapter O-2.1 of the Acts of New Brunswick, 1976, is amended by adding after

section the following: 1 La

Loi sur le pétrole et le gaz naturel, chapi ‐ tre O-2.1 des Lois du Nouveau-Brunswick de 1976, est modifiée par l’adjonction de ce qui suit après l’arti ‐ cle 3 : END OF OIL AND NATURAL GAS EXPLORATION AND DRILLING FIN DE L’EXPLORATION ET DU FORAGE DU PÉTROLE ET DU GAZ NATUREL Prohibition against exploration and drilling for oil or natural gas Interdiction d’explorer et de forer du pétrole ou du gaz naturel 3.1 Despite any other provision of this Act or the regu ‐ lations, and despite the provisions of any lease, licence, permit, instrument or agreement, on and after the com ‐ mencement of this section, no person shall 3.1 Par dérogation à toute autre disposition de la pré ‐ sente loi ou de ses règlements et aux dispositions de tout bail, toute licence, tout permis, tout instrument ou tout accord, nul ne peut, à partir de l’entrée en vigueur du présent

article : (

a) explore for, or cause to be explored for, oil or natural gas,

a) rechercher ou faire rechercher du pétrole ou du gaz naturel; (

b) undertake geophysical exploration, whether on land, on water or by aircraft,

b) entreprendre la prospection géophysique, que ce soit à terre, en mer ou par aéronef; (

c) drill a well for the purposes of exploration for, or production of, oil or natural gas, or

c) forer un puits aux fins d’exploration ou de pro ‐ duction du pétrole ou du gaz naturel; (

d) hydraulically fracture a well.

d) se livrer à la fracturation hydraulique d’un puits. 1 Revocation of licences Révocation des licences et des permis 3.2 Despite any other provision of this Act or the regu ‐ lations, and despite the provisions of any lease, licence, permit, instrument or agreement, on and after the com ‐ mencement of this

section 3.2 Par dérogation à toute autre disposition de la pré ‐ sente loi ou de ses règlements et aux dispositions de tout bail, toute licence, tout permis, tout instrument ou tout accord, à partir de l’entrée en vigueur du présent

article : (

a) all geophysical licences granted under

section are revoked,

a) toutes les licences de prospection géophysique accordées en vertu de l’article sont révoquées; (

b) all licences to search granted under

section are revoked, and

b) tous les permis de recherche accordés en vertu de l’article sont révoqués; (

c) the Minister shall not grant a geophysical li ‐ cence or licence to search.
