Lake O’Law Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 74-1380 (December 19, 1974), N.S. Reg. 125/74

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 27th day of November, A.D., 1974, pursuant to the provisions of

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to:

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, and situate at or near Harvard

Lake, in the County of Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial

Park, said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands

described in

Schedule “A” and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked

Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and

recommendation, and

(

b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Lake O’Law Provincial

Park”.

Lake O’Law Provincial Park

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying, and being at Harvard Lake, County of

Inverness, Province of Nova Scotia as the same is shown on Plan E-5-35, recorded in the

Crown Land Registry Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more

particularly described as follows:

Beginning at a Crown Land Iron Post (C.L.I.P.) set on the eastern boundary of Highway No. 19

and the northern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by James McGeary;

Thence north three degrees five minutes west (N 3° 05'

W) along the eastern boundary of said

Highway No. 19 distant one thousand thirty-two decimal ninety (1032.90) feet to a C.L.I.P. set

on the southern boundary of lands now or formerly owned by Daniel Tompkins;

Thence south sixty-eight degrees fifty minutes east (S 68° 50'

E) along the southern boundary

of said lands now or formerly owned by Daniel Tompkins, distant three hundred eighty-three

decimal forty-six (383.46) feet to a C.L.I.P . set on the western shore line of Harvard Lake;

Thence southerly along the western shore line of said Harvard Lake to a C.L.I.P. set on the

northern boundary of said lands now or formerly owned by James McGeary, said C.L.I.P. being

south one degree seventeen minutes thirty-seven seconds west (S 1° 17' 37" W), distant one

thousand one decimal thirty-nine (1001.39) feet from the immediate above mentioned C.L.I.P.;

Thence north sixty-eight degrees fifty minutes west (N 68° 50'

W) along the northern boundary

of said lands now or formerly owned by James McGeary distant two hundred ninety-nine

decimal sixty-four (299.64) feet to the place of beginning.

The above bearings are magnetic of the year 1962.

The above described lands containing an area of five (5) acres more or less.
