Statute: Workers’ Compensation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Labour, Skills and Immigration dated October 20, 2023, and pursuant to Sections 151, 152 and 153 of

Chapter 10 of the Acts of Nova Scotia, 1994-95, the Workers’ Compensation Act , is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Robert Patzelt, K.C. of Halifax Regional Municipality (Halifax) as a member and Deputy Chair of the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board of Nova Scotia for a term of five (5) years commencing November 7, 2023; (

b) order that Robert Patzelt, K.C. be remunerated in the amount of $3,000 per year, to be paid pro rata , and $300 per day for attendance at meetings and meeting preparation, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in connection with the work of the Board of Directors, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally paid to members of the civil service; and (

c) order that Robert Patzelt, K.C. receive a $2,000 annual honorarium, to be paid pro rata for chairing a committee of the Board of Directors.
