OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated April 29, 2009, pursuant to

Section 52 of

Chapter 1 (1992 Supplement) of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the House of Assembly Act, and

Section 19 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to, effective September 1, 2009, (

a) subject to clause (b), appoint Karen Kinley, Barrister, of Maders Cove, in the County of Lunenburg, a Legislative Counsel; (

b) determine the appointment be for a probationary period and that the appointment be made permanent after one year of satisfactory service as is determined by the Chairman of the Legislature Internal Economy Board; (

c) determine the salary scale of Karen Kinley to be at the Civil Service scale in force from time to time for Solicitors in the Department of Justice and determine the salary of Karen Kinley to be at such class and level as is determined from time to time by the Chairman of the Legislature Internal Economy Board; and (

d) direct that Karen Kinley, in carrying out her duties shall be subject to the supervision, direction and control of the Chief Legislative Counsel.
