PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA ORDER OF THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL Order in Council No. — 6 9 9 , Approved and Ordered JUL Lieutenant Governor Executive Council Chambers, Victoria WHEREAS A.

The First Nations Summit, the Government of Canada, and the Government of British Columbia have established the British Columbia Treaty Commission by joint operation of the British Columbia Treaty Commission Resolution (Summit) dated May 10, 1993, the British Columbia Treaty Commission Act (Canada) and the British Columbia Treaty Commission Act (British Columbia) for the purpose of facilitating the negotiation of treaties; B.

Miles Richardson was appointed as Chief Commissioner by Canada (Order in Council P.C. 1998-2059, November 19, 1998), British Columbia (Order in Council 1358, November 12, 1998) and the First Nations Summit (Resolution 1198.04, November 25, 1998) for a term of three years; C. Miles Richardson's appointment will expire on November 17, 2001; THEREFORE on the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that (

a) Miles Richardsoti of Haida Gwai is reappointed as Chief Commissioner of the British Columbia Treaty Commission during pleasure for a term of 3 years, effective November 18, 2001 and ending on the earlier of (

i) November 17, 2004, or (ii) the date on which the appointment is terminated, (

b) the Chief Commissioner be remunerated in accordance with the rate set out in the

schedule to the federal order in council that, together with this order and a resolution of the Summit appoints him, and (
