EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Coat of Arms Act to amend

Schedule A to:

update the name of the province;

and

replace the words " Savages of the Clyme pper armed and apparaled

according to their Guise when they goe to Warre"

with the word "Beothuk".

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

as amended

Schedule A to the Coat of Arms Act is amended by

(

a) adding the words "AND LABRADOR"

after the word "NEWFOUNDLAND"; and

(

b) deleting the words " Savages of the Clyme pper armed and apparaled

according to their Guise when they goe to Warre" and substituting the word

"Beothuk".
