I, Barry Penner, Minister of Environment and Minister Responsible for Water Stewardship and Sustainable Communities, order that

1 The Hunting Regulation, B.C. Reg. 190/84, is amended as follows:

(

a) in

section 16.1 by adding the following subsection:

(4) A person who takes or kills an antlerless elk in M.U.s 7-20, 7-21, 7-32 to 7-35, 7-44 to 7-46 or 7-58 commits an offence if he or she fails, within 48 hours after the kill, to report by telephone or in person to the Fort St. John Ministry of Environment regional office the place and date of the kill. ,

(

b) in

Schedule 7,

Part 2,

section 26 by renumbering the

section as

section 26 (1) and by adding the following subsection:

(2) In addition to subsection (1), the open season for antlerless elk on

(

a) private property, or

(

b) Crown land within 1 000 metres of private property

in M.U.s 7-20, 7-21, 7-32 to 7-35, 7-44 to 7-46 and 7-58 is from March 5, 2007 until the earlier of

(

c) March 31, 2007, or

(d) 72 hours after the regional manager has published a notice that the season will close. , and

(

c) in

Schedule 7,

Part 3 by adding the following section:

Elk

(1) The bag limit for elk in M.U.s 7-20, 7-21, 7-32 to 7-35, 7-44 to 7-46 and 7-58 is 2.

(2) Despite subsection (1), the bag limit for antlerless elk in M.U.s 7-20, 7-21, 7-32 to 7-35, 7-44 to 7-46 and 7-58 during the period March 5 to March 31 is 1.

2 The Hunting Licensing Regulation, B.C. Reg 8/99, is amended as follows:

(

a) in

section 15 by repealing paragraph (d), and

(

b) in

section 16 by adding the following paragraph:

(h) 2 elk species licenses.
