OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs dated March 23, 1999, pursuant to Sections 8 and 9 of

Chapter 213 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Housing Act, is pleased to: (

a) approve the acquisition of the 75% interest of the Canada Lands Company in approximately 960 acres of land located at Marsh Lake, Halifax County, (the "acquired lands") in exchange for the conveyance of the 25% interest of the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs in approximately 900 acres located at Kidston Lake, Halifax County, (the "conveyed lands") to the Canada Lands Company, and payment of $800,000; (

b) approve the lease of 100 acres, more or less, of the acquired lands for the construction and operation of new correctional and forensic facilities, on terms and conditions satisfactory to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, with the advice of the Minister of Justice; (

c) approve of payment for the acquired lands from i. receipt of market value lease payments in respect of the lands referred to in paragraph (b), and ii. payments by the Departments of Justice and Health in respect of the acquired lands; (

d) authorize the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs to execute such documents and take such actions as are necessary to give effect to this Order.
