Order in Council 582/2023

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsections 42(4) and (5) of the Courts of Justice Act , O.C. 631/2019 dated April 18, 2019 appointing the Honourable Justice Sharon Margaret Nicklas as Associate Chief Justice – Co-ordinator of Justices of the Peace of the Ontario Court of Justice be revoked, effective the last instant of May 31, 2023.

And further , that pursuant to subsection 42(3) of the Courts of Justice Act, the Honourable Justice Sharon Margaret Nicklas be appointed Chief Justice of the Ontario Court of Justice for a fixed term of eight years, effective the first instant of June 1, 2023.
