Interpretation Act Public Service Superannuation Act Civil Service Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of Executive Council dated November 16, 2011, and pursuant to Sections 7, 8, 14G and 25IA of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act, and on all authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective December 1, 2011: (

a) revoke the appointment of Greg Keefe as Secretary to the Executive Council, Clerk of the Executive Council, Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier, Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board Office, Chief Executive Officer of the Chief Information Office and Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia; (

b) revoke the designation of Greg Keefe as head of the Public Service; (

c) revoke the appointment of David Darrow as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal; (

d) revoke the appointment of Elizabeth Cody as Associate Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board Office; (

e) appoint David Darrow as Secretary to the Executive Council, Clerk of the Executive Council, Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier and Chief Executive Officer of the Office of Communications Nova Scotia; (

f) designate David Darrow as head of the Public Service; (

g) appoint Elizabeth Cody as Deputy Minister of the Treasury Board Office and Chief Executive Officer of the Chief Information Office; (

h) appoint Jane Fraser as Acting Deputy Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal; (

i) designate David Darrow, Elizabeth Cody and Jane Fraser as deputy heads within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

j) fix and determine the salaries of Elizabeth Cody and Jane Fraser to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (

k) fix and determine the salary of David Darrow to be at such rate as may be determined by Treasury Board; (

l) direct that David Darrow, Elizabeth Cody and Jane Fraser shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (

m) designate David Darrow, Elizabeth Cody and Jane Fraser to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
