2020 (No. 2) were proclaimed in force on October 1, 2021; and

WHEREAS sections 73, 75, 76 and 80 of the Health Statutes Amendment Act, 2020

(No. 2) were proclaimed in force on April 1, 2023; and

WHEREAS it is expedient to proclaim certain provisions of the Health Statutes

Amendment Act, 2020 (No. 2) in force:

Council of Our Province of Alberta, by virtue of the provisions of the said Act

hereinbefore referred to and of all other power and authority whatsoever in Us vested

in that behalf, We have ordered and declared and do hereby proclaim sections 71, 72,

77, 81 to 92, 95(a)(i), to the extent that it repeals

section 131(1)(a)(iii) to (vii) of the

Health Professions Act, (ii), to the extent that it repeals

section 131(1)(

Health Professions Act, (iii) and (iv) and (b), 96(c), 97, 98, 102(b), 121 and 123 of the

Ministerial Order No. 008/2023

(Irrigation Districts Act)

Irrigation District Amalgamation

WHEREAS a petition was made on November 25, 2022, under

section 75(

c) of the

Irrigation Districts Act, RS.A. 2000, c. I-11 (the "Act") for the amalgamation of

Aetna Irrigation District and Leavitt Irrigation District into one irrigation district to be

known as "Southwest Irrigation District";

WHEREAS

section 78(3) of the Act authorizes the Minister to grant the petition and

make an order accordingly in the absence of written objections; and

WHEREAS

section 28 of the Act requires the Minister to appoint the first board of a

district formed under

Part 4 of the Act;

WHEREFORE, I, Nate Horner, Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, pursuant to

section 28,

section 78(3), and

section 79 of the Irrigation Districts Act, make the

following Ministerial Order:

1. Aetna Irrigation District ("AID") and Leavitt Irrigation District ("LID") are

amalgamated into one irrigation district to be known as "Southwest Irrigation

District" (referred to in this Ministerial Order as the "Amalgamated Irrigation

District").

2. The address of the head office of the board of the Amalgamated Irrigation

District is 348 Main Street, PO Box 1800 Cardston, AB T0K 0K0

3. The expansion limit of the Amalgamated Irrigation District is set at 13,500 acres.

4. The parcels constituting the Amalgamated Irrigation District are the parcels that

constitute AID and the parcels that constitute LID as of the day before the date

this Ministerial Order comes into effect.

5. The following individuals are appointed as the first board of directors of the

Amalgamated Irrigation District, each for a term to expire one year from the date

this Ministerial Order comes into effect:

Bart Leavitt,

Lavern Vadnais,

Dixie Bevans,

Burke Nish, and

Russell Jensen.

6. Bart Leavitt and Burke Nish are designated as Chair and Vice Chair of the board,

respectively.

7. Any outstanding debts of AID or LID are transferred to the Amalgamated

Irrigation District.

8. Any rights, property, obligations, or liabilities held by or valid against AID or

LID are transferred to the Amalgamated Irrigation District, or are valid against

the Amalgamated Irrigation District, as the case may be.

9. This Ministerial Order comes into effect on the first day of the month following

the date of this Ministerial Order.
