OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated November 10, 2025, is pleased, effective December 1, 2025, to: (

a) pursuant to subsection 7(5) of

Chapter 22 of the Acts of 2000, the Agricultural Marshland Conservation Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Agricultural Marshlands Conservation Commission, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Agricultural Marshlands Conservation Commission be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (ii) the members of the Agricultural Marshlands Conservation Commission be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

b) pursuant to subsection 36(6) of

Chapter 21 of the Acts of 2018, the Animal Protection Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Animal Welfare Appeal Board, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Animal Welfare Appeal Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, (ii) the Vice-chair of the Animal Welfare Appeal Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred seventy-five dollars ($275.00) per day, or one hundred thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($137.50) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (iii) the members of the Animal Welfare Appeal Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

c) pursuant to

Section 2 [of] the Arbitration Proceedings Regulations , N.S. Reg. 71/97 made pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 113 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crop and Livestock Insurance Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Crop and Livestock Insurance Arbitration Board, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Crop and Livestock Insurance Arbitration Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (ii) the members of the Crop and Livestock Insurance Arbitration Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

d) pursuant to subsection 5(6) of

Chapter 3 of the Acts of 2000, the Farm Practices Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Farm Practices Board, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Farm Practices Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (ii) the members of the Farm Practices Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

e) pursuant to subsection 3(3) of

Chapter 308 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Natural Products Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Natural Products Marking Council, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Natural Products Marketing Council be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (ii) the members of the Natural Products Marketing Council be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

f) pursuant to subsection 6(4) of

Chapter 6 of the Acts of 1996, the Meat Inspection Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Meat Inspection Board, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Meat Inspection Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, (ii) the Vice-chair of the Meat Inspection Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred seventy-five dollars ($275.00) per day, or one hundred thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($137.50) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (iii) the members of the Meat Inspection Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; (

Chapter 7 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act , and notwithstanding any previous Orders in Council setting remuneration for members of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board, order that: (

i) the Chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) per day, or one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, (ii) the Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred seventy-five dollars ($275.00) per day, or one hundred thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($137.50) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service, and (iii) the Directors of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board be remunerated for their service in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) per day, or one hundred twenty-five dollars ($125.00) for meetings lasting less than four (4) hours, and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Directors, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
