The Act governs the designation, ob- jects, powers and duties of comm unity care access corporations. It also provides for the composition and powers of the boards o f directors of these corporations. The corporations listed in the Schedule to the Act may be designated, by regulation, as community care access corpora- tions. Other corporations may also be designated as community care access corporations, if they engage in any of the activities described in clause 2 (1) (b) of the Act. A corporation that is designated may be deemed, by regulation, to be an approve d agency under the Long-Term Care Act, 1994 and if so, it will have duties under that Act.
