OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture dated July 7, 2006, pursuant to

Section 5 of

Chapter 13 of the Acts of 2001, the Veterinary Medical Act, and subsection 18(1)(

d) of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act, is pleased to: (

a) appoint Glenis Sullivan of Lower Sackville, Halifax Regional Municipality, as a member of the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association Council, for a term of office of three years commencing August 1, 2006 and ending July 31, 2009; (

b) determine the rate of remuneration for carrying out duties as a member to be $100 per day to be paid by the Department of Agriculture; (

c) determine that reasonable expenses necessarily incurred by the member in carrying out duties of the Council shall be paid by the Nova Scotia Veterinary Medical Association; (

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate, or settle claims or charges made against Glenis Sullivan and indemnify her from personal liability, provided that the Province is satisfied that the claim arises out of activities in relation to her appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends her, the Province will be in control of the case; (

e) determine, as a condition of her appointment, that Glenis Sullivan shall be bound by the principles and purposes of the Corporate Code of Conduct for Civil Servants and

Chapter 4 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1991, the Members and Public Employees Disclosure Act.
