Clairmont Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-689 (June 29, 1972), N.S. Reg. 121/72

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 22nd day of June, A.D., 1972, pursuant to the provisions of

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to:

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at or near the Town

of Kingston, in the County of Kings, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a

provincial park, said areas of land being included within the boundaries of the

lands described in

Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation

and shown outlined on the Plan of Survey marked

Schedule “B” also attached

to the report and recommendation; and

(

b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Clairmont Provincial

Park”.

Clairmont Provincial Park

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying or being near the Town of Kingston,

County of Kings, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on Plan #E-5-21 filed in the Crown Land

Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more particularly

described as follows:

Beginning at an iron post situated on the northerly boundary of Highway No. 1;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north thirty-eight degrees eight minutes west, three

hundred seventy-six decimal twenty feet to an iron post;

Thence south sixty-four degrees fourteen minutes west, one thousand three hundred seventy

decimal thirty-six feet to an iron post;

Thence north twenty-four degrees fifty-four minutes west, four hundred thirty-six decimal

twenty-six feet along a barb wire fence to a point;

Thence following the said barb wire fence north twenty degrees twenty-nine minutes west,

three hundred thirty-two decimal sixty-four feet to a point;

Thence following the aforementioned barb wire fence north twenty-four degrees forty-six

minutes west, two hundred eighty-seven decimal thirty feet to an iron post;

Thence north forty-seven degrees fifty-two minutes east, two thousand one hundred thirty-nine

decimal zero six feet to an iron post situated on the westerly boundary of the Clairmont Road

so-called;

Thence south forty-two degrees eight minutes east, sixty-four decimal zero two feet along the

westerly boundary of the Clairmont Road so-called to an iron post;

Thence south forty-seven degrees fifty-two minutes west, two hundred decimal ninety-seven

feet to an iron post;

Thence south twenty-nine degrees four minutes east, five hundred ninety-seven decimal

ninety-six feet to an iron post;

Thence south fifty-nine degrees forty-eight minutes west, two hundred thirty-three decimal

ninety-seven feet to an iron post;

Thence south twenty-three degrees fifty-three minutes east, seven hundred thirty-two decimal

sixty feet to an iron post;

Thence south sixty-four degrees twenty-nine minutes west, sixty-four decimal forty-two feet to

an iron post;

Thence south thirty-eight degrees eight minutes east, five hundred fourteen decimal forty-seven

feet to an iron post situated on the northerly boundary of Highway No. 1;

Thence south fifty-two degrees fifty-two minutes west, two hundred ninety-nine decimal

ninety-seven feet following the northerly boundary of highway No. 1 to the place of beginning

containing fifty-six acres more or less.
