Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Public Works dated April 11, 2025, and pursuant to Sections 3, 4 and 6 of

Chapter 7 of the Acts of 2005, the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission Act , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , hereby: (

a) revokes the appointment of Ted Farquhar of Halifax Regional Municipality as a member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission made by Order in Council 2024-6 dated January 16, 2024, effective May 8, 2025; (

b) reappoints Victoria Harnish of Lunenburg County as the Chair and member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission, for a term of one (1) year commencing May 8, 2025; (

c) reappoints Richard MacLean of Halifax Regional Municipality as a member of the Halifax-Dartmouth Bridge Commission, for a term of one (1) year commencing May 8, 2025; (

d) amends the term of the appointment of Janet MacMillan as Vice-chair and member, made by Order in Council 2023-238 dated September 7, 2023, to expire January 31, 2027; (

e) orders that Victoria Harnish be remunerated for services as the Chair in the amount of $18,200 per year and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as the Chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; and (

f) orders that Richard MacLean be remunerated for services as a member in the amount of $3,600 per year and be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as a member, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
