Order in Council 359/2025

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, by and with the advice and concurrence of the Executive Council of Ontario, orders that:

Pursuant to subsection 8(1) of the Executive Council Act and despite any provision of a statute or Order in Council:

The Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement shall exercise the powers and perform the duties, functions and responsibilities of the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 , and such powers, duties, functions and responsibilities are assigned and transferred accordingly.

Responsibility for the administration of the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 , is assigned and transferred from the Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement.

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks shall continue to carry out the functions, responsibilities and programs of the Ministry under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and the Waste Diversion Transition Act, 2016 .

Order in Council O.C. 1193/2022 dated August 29, 2022 and Order in Council O.C. 1173/2024 dated August 29, 2024 are hereby amended and shall be interpreted accordingly.
