EXPLANATORY NOTES

This Bill would amend the Historic Resources Act to

remove the requirement that the

accounts and financial transactions of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland

and Labrador comply with the Financial Administration Act ; and

add a requirement that the

financial statement of the Heritage Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador be audited by the auditor general.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and

House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

Section 27 of the Historic Resources Act is repealed and the following substituted:

Audit

(1) The

auditor general shall annually audit the financial statement of the foundation.

(2) The financial year of the foundation shall be

from April 1 in

one year to March 31 in

the next year.
