Statute: Vital Statistics Act Change of Name Act Solemnization of Marriage Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Business and Consumer Services dated July 19, 2000, and (

a) pursuant to

Section 51 of

Chapter 494 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Vital Statistics Act, is pleased to amend the regulations respecting fees for searches and transactions made by Order in Council 94-125 dated February 15, 1994, by repealing clauses 1(

a) and (b); (

b) pursuant to

Section 33 of

Chapter 436 of the Revises Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Solemnization of Marriage Act, is pleased to: (

i) revoke Orders in Council 79-1179 dated September 18, 1979, and 86-28 dated January 14, 1986, respecting the fee to be paid for a marriage license and the amount to be retained by the issuer, (ii) revoke Order in Council 86-1077 dated September 9, 1986, respecting the fee to be charged by a judge for solemnizing a marriage, (iii) make regulations to determine fees respecting the solemnization of a marriage in the form set forth in

Schedule "A" attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; (

c) pursuant to

Section 21 of

Chapter 66 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Change of Name Act, is pleased to amend the regulations made by Order in Council 77-942 dated August 2, 1977, in the manner set forth in

Schedule "B" attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, effective on and after September 6, 2000.
