MINISTERIAL ACCOUNTABILITY

BASES ACT, 2004-2005

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Minister of Health Services

1 For the purposes of

section 5 (1) and 6 (1) of the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act in relation to the Minister of Health Services for the 2004-2005 fiscal year, the estimated amount under

section 6 (1) of that Act is the sum of

(

a) the amounts appropriated for the operating expenses for which that minister is responsible in the main estimates for that fiscal year, and

(

b) the amount appropriated under

section 1 of the Supply Act, 2004-2005 for the operating expenses for which that minister is responsible in the supplementary estimates referred to in the

preamble to that Act.

Commencement

2 This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.

Explanatory Note

This Bill provides increased bases for purposes of ministerial accountability under the Balanced Budget and Ministerial Accountability Act , to reflect additional amounts appropriated through federal-provincial health funding arrangements.
