OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated March 1, 2001, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 348 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Police Act, is pleased to: (

a) reappoint Paul D. Gates of New Minas, Kings County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Police Commission for a further term of office of three years commencing June 3, 2001, and expiring June 2, 2004; and (

b) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against Paul D. Gates and indemnify him from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case.
