SOUTH COAST BRITISH COLUMBIA TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY

AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2), 2018

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act

SECTION 1: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 30.1] increases the allowable parking rights tax rate.

Section 30.1 (1) (

a) of the South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act, S.B.C. 1998, c. 30, is amended by striking out " does not exceed 21% " and substituting " does not exceed 24% ".

SECTION 2: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.02] removes a reference to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.02 (3) (

a) is amended by striking out " or

section 61 of the Social Service Tax Act ".

SECTION 3: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.03] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.03 (1) (

a) and (

b) is amended by striking out " or

section 61 of the Social Service Tax Act ".

SECTION 4: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.09] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.09 is amended

(

a) in subsection (1) by striking out " or under

section 61 of the Social Service Tax Act ", and

(

b) by repealing subsection (3).

SECTION 5: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.1] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.1 (

a) and (

b) is amended by striking out " or under

section 61 of the Social Service Tax Act ".

SECTION 6: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.52] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.52 is amended

(

a) in subsection (1) (d) (ii) by striking out " or Division 8 of

Part 2 of the Social Service Tax Act ", and

(

b) by repealing subsection (3).

SECTION 7: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.6] removes a reference to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.6 (3) (

e) is amended by striking out " or under

section 61 of the Social Service Tax Act ".

SECTION 8: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.62] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.62 is repealed and the following substituted:

Continuation of bylaw setting rate of tax

169.62 Subject to the authority passing a bylaw under

section 30.1 setting a rate of tax payable under

Part 7.1 that takes effect on July 1, 2010, a bylaw under

section 30.1 that is in effect on June 30, 2010 is continued.

SECTION 9: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.63] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

Section 169.63 (2) and (4) is repealed.

Commencement

10 This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.

SECTION 8: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.62] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .

SECTION 9: [South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Act,

section 169.63] removes references to the repealed Social Service Tax Act .
