BOARD MINUTE — NOVEMBER 22, 2002

CONSUMER PRICE INDEX ADJUSTMENTS — OTHER THAN FATALITIES

Whereas sections 25 and 25.2 of the Workers Compensation Act (" Act ") requires the Board to determine as of January 1, 2003, a percentage change by comparing the Consumer Price Index for October 2002 with the Consumer Price Index for October 2001 and by applying that percentage change to adjust those periodic payments of compensation referred to in

section 25 (3), and to adjust dollar amounts in the Act referred to in

section 25.2 (1);

And

whereas the Board is advised that the Consumer Price Index for October 2001 was 116.8 and for October 2002 was 120.5, giving a percentage change of 3.167808 per cent, and subtracting 1% gives a percentage change of 2.167808 per cent;

And

whereas B.C. Reg. 23/2002 amended dollar amounts described in

section 25 (4), as it read before being amended by the Workers Compensation Amendment Act, 2002 , as of February 15, 2002 as shown in column 1 below;

The Board hereby determines that the percentage change applicable under

section 25 (1) (

b) is 2.167808 per cent;

And that all periodic payments of compensation described in

section 25 (3) shall be adjusted by applying that percentage change of 2.167808 as of January 1, 2003;

And that the percentage change applicable under

section 25.2 (1) is 3.167808 per cent;

And that all dollar amounts referred to in

section 25.2 (1) of the Act shall be adjusted by applying the percentage change of 3.167808 as of January 1, 2003, as follows:
