CHAPTER

An Act to amend The Urban Municipality Act (Assented to November 24, 1982) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title This Act may be cited as The Urban Municipality Amendment, Act, 1982. Rev. Stat. c.U-10 amended The Urban Municipality Act is amended in the manner set forth in this Act.

Section amended

Section is amended by: (

a) renumbering it as subsection 169(1); and (

b) adding the following subsections after subsection (1): “

(2) Notwithstanding

section 167, the council may, by bylaw, permit shops to remain open on specified days until 10:00 p.m. or any earlier hour that the bylaw may specify for not more than 10 days per year, during a period commencing 20 days immediately preceding and ending 10 days immediately following a special event designated by council. “

(3) Not more than two special events per year shall be designated by council pursuant to subsection (2). “

(4) Where any part of the period set out in subsection (2) for a designated special event occurs at the same time as the period for which a bylaw pursuant to clause (1)(

c) may be made, the council may make a bylaw pursuant to subsection (2) in addition to a bylaw pursuant to clause (1) (c)”.

Section amended Subsection 171(1) is amended by striking out “or 169” and substituting “or subsection 169(1)”. REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN Printed by the authority of THE QUEEN’S PRINTER
