On the recommendation of the undersigned, made after consultation with the Chief Justice of British Columbia, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Court of Appeal Rules, B.C. Reg. 297/2001, are amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

1 Rule 40 (4) of the Court of Appeal Rules, B.C. Reg. 297/2001, is amended by striking out “ may be printed ” and substituting “ must be printed ”.

2 Rule 54 (4) is amended by striking out “ only on the right hand side of the page. ” and substituting “ on both sides of the page. ”

3 Form 9 is amended in the “COMPLETION INSTRUCTIONS” by repealing everything after “ A copy of any notice required under this Act. ” and substituting the following:

In addition to the foregoing, each page of the Appeal Record must be numbered consecutively, at the centre of the top portion of the page, beginning with the first page of

Part 1.

4 Form 12 is amended in the “COMPLETION INSTRUCTIONS” by repealing the following:

• Other than the index, which is to be printed on the right hand side of the page, each of the pages must be printed

(

a) on the left, or

(

b) on both sides of the page.

• Each of the pages must be numbered consecutively on the upper outside corner of each printed side of the page. ,

and substituting the following:

• Each page must be numbered consecutively, at the centre of the top portion of the page, beginning after the index.

5 Form 13 is amended in the “COMPLETION INSTRUCTIONS” by repealing the following:

In addition to the foregoing,

(

a) other than the index, each of the pages in the Transcript Extract Book must be printed only on the left side of the page, and

(

b) transcript references must be bound in chronological order and may be bound with or without tabs. ,

and substituting the following:

In addition to the foregoing, transcript references must be bound in chronological order and may be bound with or without tabs.

6 Form 21 is amended in the “COMPLETION INSTRUCTIONS” by striking out “ and each of the pages in the book of authorities may be printed on both sides of the page ”.
