Brown) recogniz ing Josh Connors, originally from Labrador City, for their self-published play “Small Town Queer”. Crocker) moved: THAT under the authority of Standing Order 65, the Member for Carbonear - Trinity - Bay de Verde, the Member for Cartwright - L’Anse au Clair, the Member for Conception Bay South, the Member for Harbour Main and the Member for St. John’s Centre shall comprise a committee and, in accordance with that Standing Order shall report, within the first 20 sitting days of appointment, lists of Members to compose the Standing Committees of the House referred to in Standing Order 65(1). The Speaker put the question and declared the motion carried. Pursuant to notice the Government House Leader (S.

Pursuant to notice and on motion, debate commenced and concluded on the motion standing in the name of the Government House Leader (S. Crocker): THAT notwithstanding Standing Order 63, this House shall not proceed with Private Members’ Day on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 but shall instead meet at 2:00 p.m. on that day for routine proceedings and the conduct of Government business, and that at 5:00 p.m. the Speaker shall then adjourn the House. The Speaker put the question and declared the motion carried.

Pursuant to notice and on motion, the following bills were intr oduced and read the first time: A bill, “An Act To Amend The Vital Statistics Act, 2009 No. 2” (Bill 19); A bill, “An Act To Amend The Securities Act” (Bill 16); A bill, “An Act To Amend The Income Tax Act, 2000 No. 2” (Bill 15); and A bill, “An Act To Amend The Lotteries Act” (Bill 18). On motion, it was ordered that the above-noted bills be read the second time on tomorrow.

Pursuant to order and on motion, debate continued on the motion “That this House approves in general the budgetary policy of the Government” (Budget Motion) and, on motion, debate was adjourned for further debate on tomorrow.
