OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forestry and the Minister of Agriculture dated December 11, 2019, and pursuant to

Section 4 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and all other authority in him vested, is pleased to, effective February 4, 2020: (

a) direct that all affairs and matters pertaining to: (

i) Forest research pertaining to Christmas tree production under subsection 12(

c) of the Forests Act ; and (ii) Regulation making authority under subsection 40(id) of the Forests Act; which heretofore have been assigned by the Legislature to the Department of Lands and Forestry or the Minister of Lands and Forestry are assigned to the Department of Agriculture or the Minister of Agriculture; and (

b) direct that a reference in any Act of the Legislature or in any rule, order, regulation, by law, ordinance or proceeding, or in any document whatsoever, to the Department of Lands and Forestry or to the Minister of Lands and Forestry, whether the reference is by official name or otherwise, shall with respect to any subsequent transaction, matter or thing relating to the affairs or matters or any of them assigned as aforesaid in paragraph (a), be held and construed to be a reference to the Department of Agriculture or to the Minister of Agriculture, as the case may be.
