An Act to Amend the Tobacco Tax Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as fol- lows: 1 The Tobacco Tax Act,

chapter T-7 of the Revised Statutes, 1973, is amended by adding after

section 7.1 the following: 7.2 The Minister may direct a fixed percentage of the tax collected to smoking cessation programs and nicotine replacement therapies, in accordance with the regulations. 2 Subs ection 22(1) of the Act is amended by adding after paragraph (j.1) the following: (j.2) respecting the establishment of a fixed percent- age of the tax collected to be dedicated to smoking ces- sation programs and nicotine replacement therapies and the conditions under which these programs will be funded; 3 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

PROJET DE LOI Loi modifiant la Loi de la taxe sur le tabac Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement de l’As- semblée législative du Nouveau-Brunswick, édicte : 1 La Loi de la taxe sur le tabac,

chapitre T-7 des Lois révisées de 1973, est modifiée par l’adjonction de ce qui suit après l’article 7.1 : 7.2 Le Ministre peut décréter qu’un pourcentage fixe de la taxe perçue sera affecté à des programmes de désaccou- tumance au tabac et à des thérapies de remplacement de la nicotine, en conformité avec les règlements. 2 Le paragraphe 22(1) de la Loi est modifié par l’ad- jonction après l’alinéa j.1) de ce qui suit : j.2) relatifs à l’établissement d’un pourcentage fixe de la taxe perçue qui doit être affecté à des programmes de désaccoutumance au tabac et à des thérapies de rem- placement de la nicotine, ainsi qu’aux conditions de fi- nancement de ces programmes; 3 La présente loi entre en vigueur à la date fixée par proclamation.
