OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated December 15, 2005, and pursuant to

Section 7 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act,

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act,

Section 2 of

Chapter 377 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Superannuation Act, and

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act,

Section 8 of

Chapter 456 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Sydney Steel Corporation Act and all other authority in him vested, is pleased to: (

a) revoke the appointment of Brian Stonehouse as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Public Works effective December 31, 2005; (

b) revoke the appointment of Brian Stonehouse as Chair of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation effective December 31, 2005; (

c) revoke the appointment of David Darrow as Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Tar Ponds Agency effective December 31, 2005; (

d) appoint David Darrow as Deputy Minister of Transportation and Public Works effective January 1, 2006; (

e) appoint David Darrow as Chair of the Board of Directors of Sydney Steel Corporation effective January 1, 2006; (

f) fix and determine the salary of David Darrow to be at such rate as may be determined from time to time by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the DM 11 Pay Plan; (

g) designate David Darrow as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

h) direct that David Darrow shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; (

i) designate David Darrow to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act; (

j) appoint Frank Potter as Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Tar Ponds Agency (NS); (

k) fix and determine the salary of Frank Potter to be at such rate as may be determined from time to time by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier; (1) designate Frank Potter as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act; (

m) direct that Frank Potter shall receive all customary benefits associated with the position of deputy head including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and (

n) designate Frank Potter to be and to have been an employee for the purposes of the Public Service Superannuation Act.
