Interpretation Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated June 1, 2016, and pursuant to Sections 3, 4 and 5 of

Chapter 213 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Housing Nova Scotia Act,

Section 10 of

Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act,

Section 88 of

Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , and

Section 18 of

Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the

Interpretation Act , and all authority in him vested, is pleased to: (

a) effective June 2, 2016, revoke paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (

d) and (

e) of Order in Council 2014-536; (

b) effective June 6, 2016, approve the Minister of Community Services engaging Dan McDougall as President and Chief Executive Officer of Housing Nova Scotia, upon the following terms and conditions: (

i) the salary of Dan McDougall shall be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan; and (ii) Dan McDougall shall receive such benefits as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; (

c) effective June 6, 2016, amend paragraph (

a) of Order in Council 81-1097G dated August 28, 1981, as amended, respecting the retirement of senior public servants by adding “Dan McDougall” to the special class of persons listed therein; and (

d) effective June 6, 2016, designate Dan McDougall as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act .
