B.C. Reg. 322/2012 , deposited November 9, 2012, pursuant to the JURY ACT [sections 24 and 34]. Order in Council 751/2012, approved and ordered November 8, 2012.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Jury Regulation, B.C. Reg. 282/95, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Section 1 of the Jury Regulation, B.C. Reg. 282/95, is amended by striking out " Subject to

section 3 (3), a person " and substituting " A person ".

Section 3 is repealed and the following substituted:

Allowance for juror

3 A person referred to in

section 1 is entitled to the following allowances:

(

a) up to $20 per day for parking costs to attend a sitting or trial if a receipt is provided to the sheriff;

(b) $0.50 per kilometre for travel costs to and from the courthouse to attend a sitting or trial for travel in excess of 32 km per day if the juror uses his or her own vehicle;

(

c) up to $15 per day for taxi costs for travel to and from the courthouse to attend a sitting or trial if a receipt is provided to the sheriff;

(

d) up to $10 per day for public transportation costs for travel to and from the courthouse to attend a sitting or trial;

(

e) up to $50 per day per child for child care costs to attend a sitting or trial if

(

i) a receipt is provided to the sheriff, and

(ii) the child care was arranged solely to attend a sitting or trial and would not otherwise have been provided.

Section 4 is amended

(

a) in paragraph (

b) by striking out " Attorney General and Ministry Responsible for Treaty Negotiations " and substituting " Justice ", and

(

b) by repealing paragraph (c).
