PROVINCIAL COURT AMENDMENT ACT, 2017
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:
Section 30.2 (3) of the Provincial Court Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 379, is amended by striking out " 10 years " and substituting " 12 years ".
Transitional Provision
Transition
2 Despite
section 30.2 (3) of the Provincial Court Act , the term of a judicial justice who
(
a) holds office when this Act comes into force, and
(
b) was appointed under
section 30.2 (1) of that Act after April 1, 2008
is extended to 12 years.
Commencement
3 This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.
