B.C. Reg. 330/2010 , deposited November 19, 2010, pursuant to the PUBLIC HEALTH ACT [Sections 113 (1) (a), 121 (

a) and (

b) and 126 (5) and (8)]. Order in Council 726/2010, approved and ordered November 18, 2010.

On the recommendation of the undersigned, the Lieutenant Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, orders that the Health Act Communicable Disease Regulation, B.C. Reg. 4/83, is amended as set out in the attached Schedule.

Schedule

Section 1 of the Health Act Communicable Disease Regulation, B.C. Reg. 4/83, is amended by repealing the

definitions of " contact ", " food handler ", " modified isolation " and " strict isolation ".

Section 2 is amended

(

a) in subsection (4) by adding " or a person designated by the Provincial health officer " after " to the Provincial health officer " in both places, and

(

b) by adding the following subsection:

(6) For the purposes of subsection (4), the Provincial health officer may

(

a) designate a person to receive the report and to request and receive any further information on his or her behalf,

(

b) give directions to the designated person respecting the use and further disclosure of the report and of any requested further information, and

(

c) without limiting the purposes for which the report and any further information were collected,

(

i) authorize the designated person to use the report and any further information to conduct or facilitate research into health issues, and

(ii) limit or put conditions on that authorization.

3 Sections 6.1, 7 to 10, 11 (

a) and 18 and Schedules C and E are repealed.

Section 6.2 (2) is amended by striking out " sections 4 (5) and 6.1, " and substituting "

section 4 (5), ".
