1 Bill 212 Dr. Metz BILL 212 2024 O RGAN AND TISSUE DONOR INFORMATION AGREEMENT ACT (Assented to , 2024) HIS M AJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, enacts as follows:

Definitions 1 In this Act, ( a) “Agency” means the Canada Revenue Agency continued under the Canada Revenue Agency Act (Canada); (b ) “federal Act” means the Canada Revenue Agency Act (Canada); ( c) “Minister” means the Minister designated under

section 16 of the Government Organization Act as the Minister responsible for the Alberta Personal Income Tax Act; (d ) “return of income” means a return of income filed under

section 150( 1)(

d) of the Income Tax Act (Canada). Agreement respecting organ and tissue donor information 2 Within one year of the coming into force of this Act, the Minister must (

a) make a request to the Agency that it enter into an agreement with t he Government of Alberta, as provided under

section 63.1 of the federal Act, to enable the Agency to collect information through r eturns of income for the purpose of establishing or maintaining a n organ and tissue donor registry in the Province, and

2 (

b) if the Agency agrees to enter into the agreement, enter into the agreement on behalf of the Government of Alberta. Repeal 3 This Act is repealed on the day the Minister enters into the agreement referred to in

section 2.
