An Act to amend certain Statutes to Standardize Provisions respecting the Fiscal Year End of certain Crown Corporations (Assented to ) HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

Short title 1 This Act may be cited as The Miscellaneous Statutes (Crown Corporations’ Fiscal Year End Standardization) Amendment Act, 2016. S.S. 1993, c.C-50.101,

section 34 amended 2 Subsection 34(2) of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 is amended by striking out “April 30” and substituting “120th day”. S.S. 1994, c.S-18.2, new

section 12 3

Section 12 of The S askatchewan Gaming Corporation Act is repealed and the following substituted: “Fiscal year 12 The ﬁ scal year of the corporation is the period ﬁ xed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council”. S.S. 1979-80, c.S-19.1, new

section 18.1 4 The following

section is added after

section 18 of The Saskatchewan Government Insurance Act, 1980: “Fiscal year 18.1 The ﬁ scal year of the corporation is the period ﬁ xed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council”.

Section 34 of The Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation Act is repealed and the following substituted: “Fiscal year 34 The ﬁ scal year of the corporation is the period ﬁ xed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council”. S.S. 1991, c.S-34.1, new

section 20 6

Section 20 of The Saskatchewan Telecommunications Holding Corporation Act is repealed and the following substituted: “Fiscal year 20 The ﬁ scal year of the corporation is the period ﬁ xed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council”. S.S. 2002, c.S-35.01, new

section 31 7

Section 31 of The Saskatchewan Water Corporation Act is repealed and the following substituted: “Fiscal year 31 The ﬁ scal year of the corporation is the period ﬁ xed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council”. Transitional 8(1) In this section, “corporations” means the Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation, Saskatchewan Government Insurance, the Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation, the Saskatchewan Telecommunications Holding Corporation and the Saskatchewan Water Corporation.

(2) Notwithstanding any provision of the Acts mentioned in sections 3 to 7 of this Act, the following are to be ﬁ scal years for each of the corporations: (

a) the period commencing on January 1, 2015 and ending on March 31, 2016; (

b) on and after April 1, 2016, the ﬁ scal years as ﬁ xed pursuant to the Acts mentioned in sections 3 to 7 of this Act as amended by this Act.

(3) Notwithstanding any provision of the Acts mentioned in sections 3 to 7 of this Act and notwithstanding any other Act: (

a) the records, accounts and ﬁ nancial statements of the corporations are to be audited based on the ﬁ scal years mentioned in subsection (2); and

b) each of the corporations shall submit to the member of the Executive Council responsible for the corporation the following in accordance with

section 34 of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993: (

i) a report on its business for the ﬁ scal years mentioned in subsection (2); and (ii) a ﬁ nancial statement showing its business for the ﬁ scal years in any form that may be required by Treasury Board. Coming into force 9 This Act comes into force on assent.
