MUSKWA-KECHIKA MANAGEMENT AREA

AMENDMENT ACT, 2001

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Section 18 (1) of the Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act, S.B.C. 1998, c. 38, is amended

(

a) by striking out "starting May 1, 1999 and ending May 1, 2002,"

and substituting "starting May 1, 2001 and ending May 1,

2005," , and

(

b) in paragraph (

a) by striking out "$2 000 000," and substituting "$3 000

000," .

2 The Muskwa-Kechika Management Area in the

Schedule is amended by striking out

"Plan 13 Tube 1757." and substituting "Plan 12 Tube 1879."

Explanatory Notes

SECTION 1: [Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act, amends

section 18 (1)]

(

a) extends to May 1, 2005 the time period during which the government makes payment to the Muskwa-Kechika Trust Fund;

(

b) commencing with the May 1, 2001 payment, increases the payment to an amount not exceeding $3 000 000 annually.

SECTION 2: [Muskwa-Kechika Management Area Act, amends the Schedule] amends the

reference to the official plan deposited with the Crown Land Registry, which

plan now includes an additional 1.9 million hectares of land in the Muskwa-

Kechika Management Area.
