AGRICULTURAL LAND RESERVE

PROTECTION ACT, 2007

This Bill requires that removal of land from the Agricultural Land Reserve for the purposes of treaty making must follow the Agricultural Land Commission’s existing exclusion procedures.

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1 The Agricultural Land Commission Act, S.B.C. 2002, c. 36 is amended by adding the following section:

Removal of land for treaty making

30.1 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, future land removed from the agricultural land reserve for the purposes of treaty making must meet the requirements for exclusion set out under

section 30 of this Act.

Explanatory Notes

This Bill requires that removal of land from the Agricultural Land Reserve for the purposes of treaty making must follow the Agricultural Land Commission’s existing exclusion procedures.
