An Act to Amend the Elections Act Loi modifiant la Loi électorale His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of New Brunswick, enacts as follows: Sa Majesté, sur l’avis et avec le consentement de l’Assemblée législative du Nouveau-Brunswick, édicte : 1 The Elections Act,

chapter E-3 of the Revised Stat ‐ utes, 1973, is amended by repealing subsection 15(1) and substituting the following: 1 La Loi électorale,

chapitre E-3 des Lois révisées de 1973, est modifiée par l’abrogation du paragra ‐ phe 15(1) et son remplacement par ce qui suit : 15(1) Where a vacancy in the Legislative Assembly is certified to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly or the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly as provided by

section of the Legislative Assembly Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council shall fix 15(1) Lorsqu’il est déclaré au président de l’Assem ‐ blée législative ou au greffier de l’Assemblée législative, de la façon prévue à l’article de la

Loi sur l’Assem ‐ blée législative, qu’il existe une vacance au sein de l’As ‐ semblée législative, le lieutenant-gouverneur en conseil doit fixer : (

a) the date of the writ, which shall not be more than six months from the date the seat becomes va ‐ cant; and

a) la date du bref, laquelle doit être dans les six mois suivant la survenance de la vacance; (

b) the date of the ordinary polling day, which shall be a Monday not more than nor less than 28 days from the date of the writ.

b) la date du jour ordinaire du scrutin, laquelle doit être un lundi dans la période de vingt-huit à trente- huit jours suivant la date du bref. 1
