Beaver Mountain Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 72-134 (February 8, 1972), N.S. Reg. 118/72

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 25th day of January, A.D., 1972, pursuant to the provisions of

Section 2 of the

Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to:

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water owned by Her

Majesty in right of the Province of Nova Scotia and situate at Beaver Mountain

in the County of Antigonish, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a provincial park,

said area of land being included within the boundaries of the lands described in

Schedule “A” attached to the report and recommendation, and shown outlined

on the Plan of Survey marked

Schedule “B” attached to the report and

recommendation; and

(

b) declare the name by which the park shall be known as “Beaver Mountain

Provincial Park”.

Beaver Mountain Provincial Park

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Beaver Mountain in the

County of Antigonish, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on plan number E-8-29 filed in the

Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax and being more

particularly described as follows:

Beginning at Crown Land post number 424 situated near the easterly boundary of a public road

leading to Highway Number 4, said post being also on the southerly boundary of a lot of land

now or formerly of Angus Bouchard;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north forty-eight degrees forty-seven minutes thirty-two

seconds east, two hundred thirty-two decimal ninety-eight feet to Crown Land post number 425;

Thence south seventy-five degrees thirty-three minutes twenty-eight seconds east, one hundred

ninety-six decimal zero two feet to a stake;

Thence south eighty-seven degrees fifty-four minutes twenty-eight seconds east, four hundred

thirty-four decimal ninety four feet to Crown Land post number 426;

Thence south twenty-seven degrees fifty-two minutes twenty-eight seconds east, seven hundred

sixty-eight decimal twenty-four feet to Crown Land post number 427;

Thence south seventy-two degrees eight minutes thirty two seconds west, three hundred

ninety-two decimal zero four foot to a stake;

Thence south seventy-five degrees thirty-three minutes thirty-two seconds west, two hundred

ten decimal fifty-four feet to Crown Land post number 428 situated on the northerly bank of a

brook;

Thence following the northerly bank of said brook north sixty-seven degrees eighteen minutes

twenty-eight seconds west, one hundred fifty-five decimal seventy-six feet; north eighty-six

degrees fifty-six minutes twenty-eight seconds west, one hundred eighty-five decimal forty-six

feet; continuing along northerly bank of said brook; south seventy-two degrees twenty-two

minutes thirty-two seconds west, two hundred twenty-seven decimal seventy feet to Crown

Land post number 429;

Thence south thirty-seven degrees forty-three minutes twenty-eight seconds east, sixty-four

decimal zero two feet to a stake;

Thence south thirty-seven degrees fifty-one minutes zero seconds west, two hundred eleven

decimal eighty-six feet to a stake;

Thence south seventy-three degrees zero minutes thirty-two seconds west, four hundred

forty-eight decimal fourteen feet to Crown Land post number 431;

Thence north twenty degrees fifty-three minutes twenty-eight seconds west, eight hundred

fourteen decimal forty-four feet to Crown Land post number 432;

Thence south sixty-nine degrees zero eight minutes thirty-two seconds west, three thousand

thirty-six decimal zero feet to Crown Land post number 433;

Thence south twenty-four degrees forty-seven minutes zero seconds east, seventy-three decimal

twenty-six feet to Crown Land post number 434;

Thence continuing south twenty-four degrees forty-seven minutes zero seconds east, five

hundred eighty-four decimal ten feet to Crown Land post number 435;

Thence south seventy-two degrees nine minutes zero seconds west, two thousand five hundred

twenty-one decimal twenty feet to Crown Land post number 436;

Thence north twenty-eight degrees thirty-five minutes zero seconds west, five hundred fifty-one

decimal ten feet to Crown Land post number 437;

Thence north twenty-two degrees fourteen minutes forty-six seconds west, one thousand

twenty-one decimal zero two feet to Crown Land post number 438;

Thence north twenty-seven degrees nineteen minutes zero seconds west, seven hundred

forty-seven decimal seventy-eight feet to Crown Land post number 439;

Thence north seventy degrees twenty-one minutes zero seconds east, two thousand five

hundred twenty-nine decimal seventy-eight feet to a stake;

Thence north sixty-nine degrees eleven minutes zero seconds east, one thousand nine hundred

seventy-four decimal zero six feet to a stake;

Thence north seventy-one degrees forty-eight minutes thirty-two seconds east, two thousand six

hundred twenty-nine decimal forty-four feet to Crown Land post number 420;

Thence south twenty-six degrees thirty-three minutes twenty-eight seconds east, nine hundred

fifty-five decimal sixty-eight feet to Crown Land post number 421;

Thence south seventy-one degrees fifteen minutes thirty-two seconds west, eight hundred

twenty-nine decimal sixty-two feet to Crown Land post number 422;

Thence south one degree nineteen minutes twenty-eight seconds east, five hundred

twenty-seven decimal thirty-four feet to Crown Land post number 423;

Thence south seventy-nine degrees eleven minutes twenty-eight seconds east, three hundred

twenty-six decimal zero four feet to the place of beginning containing three hundred

twenty-eight decimal seven acres more or less.

Together with a right in common to use an existing old road over lands now or formerly of

Angus Bouchard, centre line of said road to be the centre line of the 100-foot-wide right-of-way

as shown on aforementioned plan E-8-29 with the right to construct and maintain a road, power

and telephone lines and any other public utility over same.

Excepting and reserving therefrom that portion of the 66-foot-wide public road leading to

Highway number 4, any grants of easements of right-of-way in connection with power

transmission lines or any other public utility over the above described parklands.
