ELECTION AMENDMENT ACT 1, 2017
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:
This Bill would amend the Election Act to change the voting age in British Columbia to
Section 29 (
b) of the Election Act, R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 106, is amended by striking out " 18 years of age " and substituting " 16 years of age ".
Section 31 is amended in paragraphs (1) (b) (
i) and (ii) by striking out " 18 years of age " and substituting " 16 years of age ".
Explanatory Note
This Bill would amend the Election Act to change the voting age in British Columbia to 16.
