EXPLANATORY NOTE NOTE EXPLICATIVE This Bill amends various Acts and repeals others in order to reduce the number of government boards and agenc ies and eliminate the government's involvement in the appointment of public representatives to the counci ls of certain professional associations. Part 1 consolidates the functions of eight agricult ural boards or agencies and thereby reduces their number to three. La

Under that Act, the followi ng entities are amalgamated and continued as Manitoba Development Corporation, and the Acts establishing those entities are repealed: h the Manitoba Development Corporation, a body corporate continued under The Development Corporation Act ; h the Economic Innovation and Technology Council, a body corporate established under The Economic Innovation and Technology Council Act ; h the Manitoba Trade and Investment Corporation, a body corporate continued under The Manitoba Trade and Investment Corporation Act . Borrowing authority 14(1) The corporation may borrow money, but only with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council and only (

a) by way of loan from the government (
