OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister responsible for the Securities Act dated February 6, 2025, and pursuant to Sections 4 and 7 of
Chapter 418 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Securities Act , and
Section 18 of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , hereby: (
a) revokes the appointment of Ryan Clements of Queens County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, made by Order in Council 2024-397, dated October 24, 2024, effective March 4, 2025; (
b) revokes the appointment of Heidi Walsh Sampson, K.C., of Lunenburg County, as a member of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, made by Order in Council 2023-226, dated August 15, 2023, effective March 4, 2025; (
c) reappoints Heidi Walsh Sampson, K.C., of Lunenburg County, as a member of Nova Scotia Securities Commission and designate Heidi Walsh Sampson, K.C. as the Vice-chair of the Commission for a term of five years commencing March 4, 2025; (
d) reappoints Michael Deturbide, K.C., of Halifax Regional Municipality as a member of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission for a term of five years commencing May 1, 2025; (
e) appoints Rodney Casey of Halifax Regional Municipality and Jason Cooke, K.C., of Halifax Regional Municipality as members of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission both for a term of five years commencing March 4, 2025; (
f) determines the remuneration for Heidi Walsh Sampson, K.C., as member and Vice-chair of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission to be $39,000 per year, and that the Vice-chair be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as Vice-chair, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service; and (
g) determines the remuneration for Michael Deturbide, K.C., Rodney Casey and Jason Cooke, K.C., to be $200 per half day, and that they be reimbursed for reasonable expenses incurred in fulfilling duties as members of the Nova Scotia Securities Commission, provided such reimbursements do not exceed those normally payable to members of the civil service.
