OIC Text: The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the President of the Executive Council dated January 17, 2024, and pursuant to Sections 7 and 84 of
Chapter 376 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Public Service Act , subsection 10(1) of
Chapter 70 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Civil Service Act , and subsection 18(1) of
Chapter 235 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the
Interpretation Act , is pleased, effective January 22, 2024, to: (
a) revoke the appointment of Jeannine Lagassé as Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (
b) revoke the appointment of Dana MacKenzie as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (
c) revoke the appointment of Donna MacDonald as Associate Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia; (
d) appoint Dana MacKenzie as Deputy Minister of Health and Wellness; (
e) appoint Tracey Taweel as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs; (
f) appoint Jeannine Lagassé as Deputy Minister without portfolio until March 31, 2024; (
g) appoint Tina Thibault as Associate Deputy Minister of Communications Nova Scotia; (
h) fix and determine the salary of Tina Thibault to be at such rate as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier in accordance with the Senior Officials Pay Plan as it applies to Associate Deputy Ministers; (
i) designate Tina Thibault as a deputy head within the meaning of the Civil Service Act ; and (
j) direct that Tina Thibault shall receive benefits associated with the position of deputy head as may be determined by the Deputy Minister of the Office of the Premier.
