Statute: Members’ Retiring Allowances Act

OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Finance and Treasury Board dated August 5, 2025, and pursuant to

Section 25 of

Chapter 282 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Members’ Retiring Allowances Act , is pleased, effective on and after April 1, 2018, to: (

a) repeal the Rates of Interest Regulations , N.S. Reg. 26/1956, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council dated November 15, 1956; and (

b) make regulations respecting the provision of retiring allowances to members of the House of Assembly, in the form set forth in

Schedule “A” attached to and forming part of the Report and Recommendation.
