OIC Text: The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Justice dated February 2, 2001, and pursuant to

Section 672.38 and 672.4 of

Chapter C-46 of the Revised Statutes of Canada, 1985, the Criminal Code, is pleased to amend Order in Council 98-69 dated February 6, 1998, by adding: (

a) the words "ten months and seventeen days" immediately after the word "years" in clause (b); and (

b) the following clause immediately after clause (

c) thereof: "(

d) order that the Province shall defend, negotiate or settle claims or charges made against the Honourable William J. Grant, Q.C., and indemnify him from personal liability provided that the Province is satisfied the claim arises out of his activities in relation to his appointment and is not based on fraud or criminal activity and where the Province so defends him, the Province will be in control of the case."
