Cleveland Provincial Park Designation

made under

Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 78-1372 (November 28, 1978), N.S. Reg. 203/78

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and

Forests dated the 23rd day of November, A.D., 1978, pursuant to

Section 2 of

Chapter 244 of

the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act , is pleased to:

(

a) constitute all that area of land including land covered with water, owned by

Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, situate at or near

Cleveland Beach, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, to be a

Provincial Park, said area of land and land covered by water, being described

in

Schedule “A” and shown on

Schedule “B”, both attached to and forming

part of the report and recommendation, and

(

b) declare that the name of the park shall be known as “Cleveland Beach

Provincial Park”.

Schedule “A”

All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Queensland, in the County

of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on a plan of Cleveland Beach Provincial Park

filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office at Halifax as C.L.R. File No. E-9-59,

which lot is more particularly described as follows:

Beginning at Iron Post No. 5337 situated where the easterly boundary of Public Highway No. 3

leading from Halifax to Hubbards intersects the easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of

Peter Marriott as recorded in Book F, page 8 on file in the Department of Lands and Forests

Office, Halifax;

From thence (by astronomic bearings) north thirteen degrees forty minutes fifty-four seconds

east along the said easterly boundary of Public Highway No. 3, five hundred eighty-four

decimal zero three feet to Iron Post No. 5338;

Thence south eighty-six degrees fifty-three minutes forty-four seconds east, a distance of

seventy-six decimal sixty-seven feet to Iron Post No. 5339, situate on or near the mean high

water mark of Cleveland Lake;

Thence in a southerly and easterly direction along the mean high water mark of Cleveland Lake

one thousand ninety feet, more or less, to a point;

Thence south eighty-one degrees twenty-two minutes fifty-three seconds east along a southerly

boundary of lands now or formerly of Gordon Hayes twenty-three decimal eighty-nine feet to

Iron Post No. 5340;

Thence north sixty-three degrees zero minutes sixteen seconds east along the southeasterly

boundary of lands now or formerly of Gordon Hayes and Alvin and George Snair four hundred

ninety-two decimal thirty-seven feet to Hub No. 27, as shown on the above mentioned plan

E-9-59;

Thence continuing north sixty-three degrees zero minutes sixteen seconds east along the said

southeasterly boundaries of the aforementioned lands thirty-five feet to a point on or near the

mean high water mark of St. Margaret’s Bay;

Thence in an easterly, southerly, northerly and westerly direction along the mean high water

mark of St. Margaret’s Bay four thousand eight hundred fifty feet, more or less, to Iron Post No.

5336;

Thence north thirty-seven degrees thirty-two minutes thirty-four seconds west along the

easterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Peter Marriott thirty decimal fifteen feet to the

place of beginning.

The above described parcel contains (10.7) acres, more or less.
